A single data sheet for large and small particles

Some samples contain a great range of particle sizes. Clemex PSFilter scans these types of samples twice, first at high magnification then at low magnification, and combines the results from both analyses into one data sheet.

All types of particles detected in one run

Clemex PSFilter automatically scans the sample and detects all particles of interest in a single step. As each field is analyzed, particles are measured and sorted based on their size, morphology or color. Data sheets are updated instantly.

Fast and reproducible results

The instrument processes a large number of images, classifies the particulates and generates an easily reproducible report in just a few minutes. These accurate measurement results can then be used for documentation and presentation purposes.

Object Tracking

Primarily a built-in spreadsheet, Clemex PSFilter’s Data Browser also remembers the positions of all analyzed objects, even in multiple-field environments. This allows you to validate detected objects, delete artifacts, and sort the final results.

Contrast Threshold

Transparency, low contrast and more or less perceptible outlines make some objects hard to distinguish. Contrast Thresholding is ideal for faint objects on a filter, thin-walled cells and variable thickness crystals.

Large Fibers

Large fibers and small dirt particles are all identified in the same run. Outsized fibers, which are larger than the field of view, are stitched together with the automated mosaic function.

Isolate Objects

Clemex software offers you the possibility to isolate objects and measure them separately. The transfer can be based on morphology, color or size. Some common parameters include sphericity, aspect ratio, roughness, length, area and hue.

    With its convenient pull-down menus, Clemex PSFilter allows you to choose from a variety of pre-programmed International Standards such as IEST STD CC 1246D, ISO 16232, ISO 4406, ISO 4407, and USP 788. You can also use a customizing option so that in-house standards can be applied.

    Characterize Metallic Objects

    After detecting the objects of interest in your image you can use any number of custom or standard measurements to further classify objects. Produce and export raw and statistical data for metallic or non-metallic particles and fibers.

Automation Features

Individual reports for up to 6 samples

Measure particulates on six different samples without user intervention. Review the data after the scan is complete. Produce an individual report for each sample analyzed. 

Separate Adjacent Objects

Particles that touch each other can be easily separated with a variety of automated tools. The end result being that each object is counted separately, yielding more precise results.

Camera and Microscope

Cameras and automated microscopes can be controlled directly within an imaging script. Automating this step means the following can be changed during analysis without any manual adjustments: 1. calibration / intensity | 2. magnification | 3. illumination / contrast

Professional-Looking Reports

Reports are generated automatically after each analysis and can be customized to suit your needs. You can add a company logo, images taken during analysis, graphs and charts, statistics and results.

NIST-Traceable Auto Calibration

Using our NIST traceable micrometer, Clemex software automatically calibrates each lens, eliminating operator subjectivity. The system returns accurate, reproducible and traceable results.

Conditional Tools - Long Objects

After a scan of the sample, objects that are longer than a field of view, such as fibers, are measured by automatically lowering the magnification and re-centering the objects. They can thus be viewed entirely for accurate measurement in one single data set.

User Experience Features

Multiple Sample Management

Depending on your scanning stage and filter holder, you may wish to analyze more than one sample in a single run. Our software handles up to six filter membranes. At the end of the analysis, each filter's raw data can be validated individually and separate reports are generated.

Change Category

After initial object detection and measurement, you may wish to manually transfer some of the objects into a different category. This is done by selecting the features in the Data Browser and sending them to the bitplane of your choice. 

Circular Stage Pattern

This feature helps you to easily create rounded stage patterns when analyzing membrane filters or wafers. You control variables such as size, shape, and the number of fields while the software does the rest.

Virtual Joystick

The Motorized stage can be controlled through the software with a virtual joystick that allows you to move the stage in all directions, focus manually, or trigger auto-focus events.

Magnifying Glass Tool

The tip of the cursor can act as a magnifying glass to enhance portions of the image and help in identifying particles or anomalies.

Outline of Sample Holder

A virtual stage can be made to appear in the Stage Window, allowing you to position stage patterns with precision.

Smart Scale Line

Scale lines instantly display the correct reference length based on the chosen magnification. Color, size, thickness, and intervals are also easy to change by double-clicking on the line.
